APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION INTO POSTGRADUATE, PROFESSIONAL SKILLS & CRAFT PROGRAMMES FOR THE 2018/2019 TRAINING SESSION

 

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the following professional programmes for the 2018/2019 training session:

A. PROFESSIONAL MANAGEMENT PROGRAMMES

  • Post Graduate Diploma in Hospitality Management (2 Semesters).
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Tourism Management (2 Semesters).
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Management (2 Semesters)

ENTRY REQUIREMENT: Holders of HND and Bachelor degree in Tourism, Travel and Transport Hospitality Management and other humanities from NBTE/NUC recognised tertiary institutions and related professional regulatory bodies.

TRAINING CAMPUSES AND CENTRES: (Abuja, Bagauda; Bauchi; Benin; Enugu; Lagos; Kaduna,Osogbo and Makurdi).


B. PROFESSIONAL DIPLOMA TRAINING PROGRAMMES

ii. Diploma Qualifications

  • Diploma in Tourism and Recreation (4 Semesters).
  • Diploma in Hospitality Management (4 Semesters).
  • Diploma in Travel and Transport Management (4 Semesters)
  • Diploma in Event Management (4 Semesters)
  • Innovation Diploma in Hospitality Operations (4 Semesters)
  • Innovation  Diploma in Tourism & Recreation (4 Semesters)
  • Foundation Dip IATA International Travel & Tourism Mgt (2 Semester).
  • Foundation Diploma  in IATA Int. Travel & Tourism Management with HARVARD
  • Leadership and Management Diploma (2 Semesters).
  • Consultant Diploma  in IATA Int. Travel & Tourism Management with HARVARD Leadership and Management (2 Semesters)
  • Management Diploma in IATA Int. Travel & Tourism Management with HARVARD Leadership and Management (2 Semesters)
  • Diploma in Cargo (Introductory Level) with HARVARD Leadership and Management
  • (2 Semesters)
  • Diploma in Cargo Rating  with HARVARD Leadership and Management (2 Semesters).
  • Diploma in Introductory Airline Industry (2 Semesters)
  • Diploma in International Leadership and Management (2 Semesters).
  • Diploma in Food Hygiene (WAHEB)( 2 Semesters).

ENTRY REQUIREMENT:

i Holders of at least GCE/SSCE/NECO wanting to make a career in the travel, tourism and hospitality  industry.

ii Airline, travel agency, tour operator, Protocol and related organisation employees, employers and fresh applicants who are holders of at least GCE/SSCE/NECO wanting to make a career in the travel, tourism and hospitality  industry.


C. INSTITUTE FOR TOURISM PROFESSIONALS (ITP) NATIONAL SKILLS QUALIFICATIONS (NSQ) TRAINING PROGRAMMES

 

(a) NSQ Hospitality Trade:

  • Level 1: Hospitality Trade: Award of Certificate covers Front Office Operations; Food & Beverage Production; Food & Beverage Service; Food Safety; House Keeping Operations; Laundry and Dry Cleaning Service (180 Guided Learning Hours (GLH)

  • Level 2: Certificate covers Front Office Operations; Food & Beverage Production; Food & Beverage Service; Food Safety; House Keeping Operations; Laundry and Dry Cleaning Service (260 Guided Learning Hours)

  • Level 3: Diploma covers Front Office Operations; Food & Beverage Production; Food & Beverage Service; Food Safety; House Keeping Operations; Laundry and Dry Cleaning Service (360 Guided Learning Hours)

  • Modular Qualifications (Single Occupational Standard):
    ITP NSQ qualifications in various Occupational Standards (NOS) including; Front Office Operations (Reservation services etc); Food & Beverage Production (Cookery Specialty practice, Pastry Specialty practice, Food Safety and Hygiene etc); Food & Beverage Service (Waiter, Banquette, outdoor catering services, Decorations, Event handling); House Keeping Operations; Laundry and Dry Cleaning Service and related Standards (20 Guided Learning Hours and above )

 

(b) NSQ Travel, Leisure and Tourism Trade

  • Level 1: Award in Travel, Leisure and Tourism (Assistant Officer Level) (180 Hours)

  • Level 2: Certificate in Travel, Leisure and Tourism (Officer Level) (260 Hours)

  • Level 3: Diploma in Travel, Leisure and Tourism (Senior Officer Level) (360 Hours)

  • Modular Qualifications (Single Occupational Standard): 
    ITP NSQ qualifications in various Occupational Standards (NOS) including: Travel & Tourism Sales Representative;  Travel and Tourism Service Cashier; Travel and Tourism Quality Assurance Officer; Tourism Team Member;  Tourism Information Officer; Travel Service Reservation; Professional Transport Operations and Management; Travel, Leisure and  Tourism Officer; Business Travel Consultant; Event Operations and Management; Tour Guiding; Tour Operator; Leisure, Travel and Tourism Marketer; Leisure, Recreation  & Travel Advisor; Passenger And Visitor Check-In Assistant;  Travel, Leisure and Tourism Customer Service and Relations; Leisure Travel Consultant.

ENTRY REQUIREMENT:
(i) ITP National Vocational Qualifications Framework:

Level 1:

  • Candidates wishing to make professional/occupational career without the ability to read and write can enrol into this level of the programme.
  • Educationally disadvantaged, non-certificated school drop-out and marginalized youth.
  • Students about to graduate from secondary school system.
  • Existing labour force – employed and unemployed.
  • Tertiary education and skilled training.
  • Current policies and programmes meant to address needs for skills training  in the economy.

Level 2:

  • Achievement of Level 1 qualification.
  • Ability to read and write with numeracy knowledge.
  • Achieving relevant qualification in relevant occupational profession equivalent to Level 1 qualification covering 18 Credit Units.

Level 3:

  • Achieving Level 2 qualification.
  • Achieving relevant qualification in relevant occupational profession equivalent to Level 1 qualification covering 26 Credit Units

D. PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATE (SKILLS AND  CRAFT ) TRAINING PROGRAMMES

i. NATIONAL TECHNICAL CERTIFICATE (NTC) PROGRAMMES

  • Catering Craft Practice (NABTEB NTC 340 with modular courses) (4 Semesters).
  • Tourism Craft Practice (NABTEB NTC with modular courses) (4 Semesters).

ii. BASIC AND ADVANCED CERTIFICATE PROGRAMMES (PROFESSIONAL)

  • Tourism (2 Semesters of each level).
  • Tour Guiding (2 Semesters for each level).
  • Cookery and Pastry Practice (2 Semesters).
  • Food Hygiene (WAHEB) (2 Semesters).
  • Hospitality Operation (2 Semesters).
  • Cake Making and Decoration (8 weeks).
  • Event Management (2 Semesters)
  • Pastry Practice (6 weeks).
  • Food Preparation and Cooking (6 weeks).
  • Front Office and House Keeping (6 weeks).
  • Tailor made/On call training services (in-house or campus based)

ENTRY REQUIREMENT: Holders of GCE/SSCE/NECO/JSSCE certificates and above.
TRAINING CAMPUSES AND CENTRES: (Abuja, Bagauda, Kano; Bauchi; Benin; Enugu; Kaduna; Makurdi, Lagos and Osogbo).

 

METHOD OF APPLICATION

  • Post Graduate Diploma Programmes = N3,000
  • Professional Diploma Programmes    = N2,500
  • IATA/UFTAA Programmes                 = N2,000
  • Professional Certificate Programmes = N1,000
