NIHOTOUR TO ENHANCE PROFESSIONAL PRACTISE IN HOSPITALITY, TOURISM INDUSTRY

The Director General of the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism (NIHOTOUR),Mrs.Chika Balogun has stressed the determination of the Institute to enhance professional practice in the hospitality sub sector of the tourism and hospitality sector of the economy.

Mrs Balogun who stated this when officials of the Hospitality and Tourism Management Association of Nigeria (HATMAN),led  by  the  Chairman,Mr. Amos Popoola visited her in Abuja,said in addition to  the core mandate of NIHOTOUR to train the manpower needs of the hospitality and tourism industry,it   will,as the industry regulatory agency,ensure professional excellence in the industry.

She called on members of HATMAN to ensure regular training of practitioners in the industry in order to  ensure high quality service delivery in line with global best practices,adding that NIHOTOUR will continue to live up to the task of providing high class training for all professional cadres in the industry.

Mr. Amos Popoola had earlier in his speech, said they were at the NIHOTOUR headquarters  to identify with the ongoing efforts by Mrs. Chika Balogun to reposition the Institute for greater performance as both a training centre of excellence and regulator per excellent.

He said that the association will continue to encourage its members to undergo regular training to keep them abreast with the latest global best practices in the tourism and hospitality industry.
