NIHOTOUR SEEKS ASSISTANCE FOR OFFICE ACCOMMODATION FROM KDSG

The Director General of the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism (NIHOTOUR), Mrs.Chika Balogun,has solicited the assistance of the Kaduna State Government in the efforts of  the Institute to acquire a befitting office accommodation conducive for administrative and learning environment.

Mrs  Balogun who made the appeal when she visited the Kaduna  State Commissioner for Commerce, Industry and Tourism, Alhaji Shehu  Balarabe in his office,said,as a short term measure, the  Institute is in dire need of office and administrative structures that will accommodate its staff and students for effective administrative and learning activities as the present facilities of  the institute in the state is grossly inadequate and has hindered efforts of the Institute to expand its students intake for its various courses and programmes.

The Director  General further appealed for Kaduna State Government’s intervention on the controversy over the land allocated to the Institute in the state,which she said has delayed any effort by the Institute to commence its development.

In his response,the Kaduna State Commissioner for Commerce,Industry and Tourism, Alhaji Shehu Balarabe,said Kaduna State has been host to NIHOTOUR for decades and has become incumbent on the state to assist the institute,promising that the State Government will look into the Director General’s request with the view to getting a large office accommodation to meet the Institute’s immediate needs.

On the land matter,Alhaji Shehu Balarabe said he will table the matter before the State Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai who has prerogative power over land matters in the state, assuring  the Director General that  the matter will be amicably resolved.
