NIHOTOUR ON THE MARCH TO ICT CAPACITY BUILD-UP

The Director-General of the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism (NIHOTOUR),Mrs.Chika Balogun,has in fulfillment of her pledge to raise the bar for enhanced performance of the Institute through functional ICT base platform,visited the Nigerian Communication Satellite Limited (NIGCOMSAT), Abuja.

During the visit on Miss Abimbola Alale,Managing Director/CEO of the company,Mrs Balogun solicited for the support of the company on the provision of Internet facilities at the campuses of the institute across the country in order to boost training of staff members and students whom she said will be able to read courses of the institute online in the very near future.

Mrs Balogun who posited the efficacy of ICT in all operations globally,said NIHOTOUR stands to perform optimally well if it has the ICT facilities in the execution of its core mandate as well as impact positively on the hospitality and tourism sub sector of the national economy in line with global best practices.

In her response,Miss Alale promised to support NIHOTOUR in the best way possible,adding that NIGCOMSAT was established essentially to bring the benefits  of  satellite communication facilities to   both public and private organizations as well as individuals who need them for their day to day activities.

The Managing Director who expressed her happiness on the visit by the Director General,said both agencies need to hit the ground running by working out the modalities so that the Institute can begin to enjoy the satellite communication services of the agency without delay.

Mrs Chika Balogun was later conducted on a facility tour of NIGCOMSAT within the premises of the agency along with top members of the Management staff on her entourage during the visit.
