This study x-rays the impact of foreign direct investment to the growth of restaurant businesses in Kano State Nigeria. Various forms of variables such as injection of investment capital, productivity, employment, technology, skills and managerial capabilities otherwise considered as independent variables were used to measure the relationship between foreign direct investment and the growth of restaurant businesses in Kano State Nigeria. Stratified random sample technique was used to select few specialty restaurants purposely for this study. The primary source of data collection was the use of open ended questionnaire and interview methods to the proprietors, management staff and employees of these restaurants. About 80 people were used for this study. Similarly, a simple tabular percentage technique was used to test hypothesis developed for this study. The result of this work revealed that the foreign direct investment helps in the growth of restaurant businesses in Kano State Nigeria. The study therefore recommend that government shall remove all forms of barriers that appeared to be impediment to the inflow of foreign capital to the country and at the same time become so meticulous to the effect that foreign direct investment shall bring to the nation and its people.
